Youth Advisory Council

YAC connects teenagers to Plainsboro’s historic preservation movement by giving them an opportunity to be a driving force in the museum’s programming.

YAC volunteers must be in middle school or high school and between the ages of 11 and 18.

By joining YAC, you agree to be occasionally photographed during our events and programs. The museum photographs all events and programs for publication on the museum website and social media pages.

By joining YAC, you agree to follow all museum rules.

Collaborate with local community groups on behalf of the museum

Plan and assist with teen events and programs at the museum

Develop the museum’s youth voice and be an advocate for the museum within Plainsboro and the surrounding community

Participate in special projects such as oral histories and historic resource surveys

Experience the inner workings of a local history museum and learn various skills including archival work, museum management and more
